The Necessary and Sufficient Gospel
Romans 1:1-17 (April 19, 2020)
After the events of the past few months, the world will never return to the same as it was. But the Word of God remains constant and trustworthy to us for all times.
Three things about the Gospel that will never change:
- The truth of the Gospel
- The Gospel is simple
- The Gospel is specific – Jesus Christ our Lord
- The purpose of the Gospel
- to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for His name’s sake
- in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith
- The power of the Gospel
- the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead
- it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes
